ABOUT IZABELA

Izabela Quasha née Kaliszewska, the artist behind IQ Atelier, has been creating artwork for nearly two decades. Comfortable with and nurtured by different media, Izabela has developed over this time passions for both painting and photography, and experimented freely with various techniques and tools in each.
To Izabela these two forms of artistic expression are complementary sources of exploring the beauty of both people and nature, primarily in the simplicity of forms we all know. This is an equivalent quest for the essence of her art’s subject matter.
As a young child growing up in an industrial town, she constantly searched for beauty in her surroundings. She found it in people and the gracious movement of their bodies. A fascination for the “human form” lead to her focus on the anonymous beauty and erotic magic it possesses, with a deep awareness of the importance of lines and texture. Creating artwork inspired by nature, her work evolved, particularly when combined with her love of adventure, which she felt from early in life.
